Established as a permanent military post in 1877, The Fort Missoula Museum was built in response of local settlers in order to gain protection in the event of conflict with western Montana Indian tribes. Today, The Fort Missoula Museum houses over 40,000 artifacts for viewing. Take a tour of the various exhibits and old buildings located on the grounds.
