AThere are loads of opportunities for breathtaking scenery in the park. The 50-mile Going-to-the-Sun Road is a major feature that gives access to Park destinations including the carved valleys of St. Mary, Lake McDonald, and Logan Pass. Less known areas include Two Medicine, North Fork, Many Glacier, and Goat Haunt. These include alpine meadows, Native American grounds, and historic sites where homesteaders settled.
AFor those planning a day trip, there are several options in the vast Glacier National Park. Popular trails in the most crowded months of July and August are Avalanche Lake, Grinnell Glacier, Granite Park Chalet, and Iceberg Lake. Wheelchair accessible trails include Running Eagle Falls and the Trail of the Cedars. These are great for setting your own pace, as are Forest and Fire, Sun Point, Swiftcurrent, and Hidden Lake.
